The paste extruder Albert extruder unit is an extension for existing 3D printing systems. The Albert extruder expands the functional range of any commercially available 3D printer and opens it up for pasty media.

Alberta opens up unprecedented opportunities. The design is a fusion of two single paste extruders. These are regulated in a specific ratio, controlled by an extern control box. From now on it will be possible to print two opposing media. Depending on the starting materials, they can, for example, fuse to form a chemical fusion. Objects printed in this way have different physical, chemical, and optical properties than the usual printing results.
Alberta is a work of Tizian Erlemann and Chris Walter. First tests of the extruder unit took place at the Dutch Design Week 2017, together with Sarah Pschorn.
